Traffic Officer Learnerships Now Open for 2026 Intake

Metro Police and City of Cape Town Traffic Officer Learnership 2026

On the other side, the City of Cape Town is running a Metro Police & Traffic Officer Learnership for those wanting to serve in the Western Cape, under the city’s jurisdiction. 

Key facts:

• Training start date: 1 June 2025. Duration: 18 months, running until 30 November 2026. 

• Stipend: R34.91 per hour during the training. 

Requirements:

Must have Matric (Grade 12), be unemployed, permanently resident in the City of Cape Town, aged between 18 and 35, medically and physically fit, hold a Code B driver’s licence (manual), no visible tattoos if wearing uniform.
